Bergdorf Goodman Jewelry Salons
2016

New York, NY

These new Jewelry Salons, with a dedicated entry on 57th Street, provide an opportunity to present Bergdorf’s distinctive jewelry collection in an elegant suite of exquisite finishes.
The newly designed 57th Street facade provides a dedicated entry to the Jewelry Salons, with its stone and metalwork inspired by the 58th Street entry. New display windows featuring jewelry are detailed in cast glass, mirror, bronze and marble. Awnings with integral lighting and restored lanterns add drama and depth, giving Bergdorf’s elegant entry portal to jewelry a luster to match its new role.
Within new, traditionally detailed rooms are inserted elements that play off the chiseled shapes of gemstone design of the ‘20s and ‘30s - a motif in wall paneling, vitrines, and custom chandeliers. Walls are inset with gray stained, faceted koto wood paneling, featuring accents of cast glass, antique mirror and antique brass. Display fixtures with details in antique mirror and cast glass echo the luster and shapes of gemstones. Lighting is both softly diffuse and sharply focused to spotlight the jewelry. Custom chandeliers by Venfield and cast glass sconces by Salibello extend the faceted and reflective motif. The custom carpet is hand-knotted in patterns of dappled shades of gray, and inset into a floor of Blue de Savoie gray marble. A display wall designed as a folding screen of gray dyed pigskin and brass bamboo profiled hinges houses smaller designer collections. Two stepped, octagonal floor vitrines are faced in edge-lit Selenite panels.
